Tilted Right, High S on 1979 Lincoln Cent T-II Proof
I was shooting 2 1979-T-II proof cents for sale today, and swiftly noticed the 1 has a very noticible tilted right S mintmark....this draws my attention, as the VAM folks utilize tilted mintmarks as a major issue....looking at my normal 79-T-II, there seems to be a noticible difference.....the Tilted S is "High"(much closer to the 1979) and tilted right....while the normal is straight, and "low".....any comments welcome...I may send this to the cherry picking authors...never seen this before...second pic is the "normal" s straight position.Last edited by iloveikes; 12-03-2009, 06:00 PM.Tags: None

Yes it is tilted. It is a curiosity, especially since it is on a proof coin and would fit in nicely with a collection that features odd mint mark positions and placements. As for an added premium, I would think that it carries some, once again because it happened on a proof coin.
