ZT dollar edge error?
The space between 2009 & d is smaller as is the space between d & the first star. The D mint mark seems to be centered. From what I've read it is caused by "slippage". Could it have happened with just 1 "slip". I would like to see the way the edging is done. Has anyone else found this error? I know the pictures are not real clear, but they do show the spacing. Any help would be appreciated. It probably is not worth much, but it still looks kind of neat. -
A true mintage error!
I've gone through numerous Presidential Dollars and rarely come across one of these. I know that the term "slippage" is used but I have no idea how these are produced to be able to say if the term is correct.
Perhaps someone knowledgeable on edge lettering machines can share their what they know. Photo's perhaps?Lee Lydston

Thanks for taking the time for the post. Have you ran across a "slippage" error that appears to have multi-slips. Could it have happened with just 1 "slip"? I hope someone that is aware of how this error occurs will post. It's not so much that that it shows 'slippage", it's where it occurs that has "eye appeal" (?) to me. Anyway thanks for the response!
