CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

    2004-D KEELBOAT DDO?

I was lucky to grab 4 rolls of the Westward Journey 5c Rolls, all D-Mint..and, while looking at the Double Dies on the Ocean in View Trees, decided to double check the others..Bison..Peace/Handsahke, and, Keelboat.....
I apologize for the crude pics..the coin has so much luster, it makes my microscope touchy....and, the sailor's heads are just small enough for my camera to have a hard time picking up crisply...this one goes out to somebody for examination...the flattened metal runs down the line of sailors, right to left, strong to weak, with each person having an issue. The contrasty shot shows the severity of the issue.
    Thanks
    Cal

It appears to be machine doubling.
