    1961 D Lincoln cent ???

I found this 1961 D Lincoln cent while searching bu rolls a few years back and just came upon it again recently and am wondering just how this happened, the obverse has a partial image of the reverse memorial thru the center, I counted 9 partial colums , partial steps, and partial letter O on lower left bust. Not a clashed die, as the discribed are incused, so another coin has to have been involved. How would this have happened ?? The reverse of the coin seems normal

It is called a squeeze job. Two coins are placed together and pressure is applied. It produces a mirror image of the opposing coin on the other coins surface. It is not an error coin since the alterations occurred outside of the Mint.

Thank You BJ, I'll mark it as post mint damage. It certainly didn't seem to follow any logical error.
