That does appear to be a 1971-S Pegleg Proof which also represents about 25% of the total production.

Unless its a high grade deep Cameo coin, I would not have it graded.

thanks, thought it was. Is there a reason there is more of a interest in the 72 IKE'S. The two coin shops i showed this Ike to acted like it was no big deal. Would only be worth face value.

        Face Value?

LMAO! I could almost guarantee that if you offered them $2.00 (twice face value) for ANY of their 1971-S Silver IKE's, they'd laugh you into the street.

At today's silver prices, the coin has $9.22 in silver alone not to mention if it's a collectible Doubled Die (some of which have a value exceeding $750).

Generally speaking, IKE doesn't get any respect but to imply that a silver IKE is only worth face value is just goofy.
