CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Is this common

    Here is a 1960-d small date..I was wondering if this is common for all the letters and the date to be very wide on the whole obverse and reverse..Everything is very wide and yes they are uncirculated..Thanks

    After just looking through about thirty rolls of small date 1960-D Lincoln cents, I can say for sure that this are not normal digits; there is distortion involved. Now whether it is a doubled die or some other anomaly type, I cannot say for sure without seeing the coin in hand. To date there are no listings for a doubled die for the 1960-D small date Lincoln cent.
