CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

I think there are 10 or 11 doubled dies known among 1972 cents. The differences can be subtle and are described on Variety Vista (http://news.conecaonline.org/index.htm) and coppercoins (www.coppercoins.com).

There are the 9 classic DDOs listed in the CPG which include 8 class I and 1 class VIII. There is one other class VIII listed by CONECA (DDO-010).

Wexler and Crawford both list an additional class I (a tad more minor than DDO-005) and something like 6 or 7 class VIIIs all with an extra bar of the 2 and similar to DDO-009.

The sources Mike outlined should help clarify...
