CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    Hi again,

    I found this 2010 cent with an unusual eye. As the picturess show - i first thougth it was goo stuck on the coin,but as you can see it is the coin with the eye anomaly.

    If it's not dried glue, then it may be a strike-through error.

          Mike I'm on your side with this one. I'm about 100% sure that this is dried glue or some type of dried goop. look along the thin edges of it and it looks like you can right thru it. I have seen this on coins myself and sometimes at first glance I think I have hit the jackpot. I have seen coins on Ebay with large dried up glue chunks and the seller thought they had the most awesome thing ever. I just got off Ebay and seen this thing. check out Ebay item # 330537710985
          I got onto the seller so now I'm waiting for my bashing.

            Goo it is

            At the risk of damaging the coin, intense pressure was applies and it stretched. Additional presure was then applied and presto clean it off.

              Trubits from now on when you find a coin with this junk on it just use your finger nail on the edge of it to see if some of it will come off.Once you get used to looking more at your coins you can instantly tell the difference between a damaged coin and a error coin. just keep learning as you go and soon you will get much better at checking your coins for error or variety coins..
