Jason there must have been some other poor souls out there that thought the seller was telling the truth but I knew he wasn't. I'm the one that asked him the question that he replied to and he really goofed up in one of his replys to me. after he had said he found it from looking thru coin rolls he turned around and said this coin had been owned by his Grandpa for a long time and his Grandpa had been a great error collector and also knew the coin was a true doubled die coin.
This seller in my opinion is really starting out bad on Ebay and may end up like that other seller that has the 1930 S cent coin and a few more coins with the worthless MD and has them priced up in the thousands.
I also told this other seller what he was trying to sell and he is one of them think you know it all folks and don't want to understand anything but being deceiving and corrupt. There is no use trying to help this type person. I think you know about what I'm trying to say here.

E-bay is full of pitfalls and it is people like this that help it to be the troubled site that it is.
In this case, there is no evidence that this is the true DDO-001. Since E-bay has blocked the ability of being able to download the pictures for higher magnification (they are afraid of copyright infringements?), it is a score for the bad guys. However, there are ways to circumnavigate this block. Most, who are savvy with computer programs will know how to do it.
As to the person who conducted this auction, put them on your watch list and get a good laugh once in awhile at their ridiculous auctions.

If you want a good laugh go look at this sellers meager feedback and see what someone said about him. but I warn you it is not good.
The problem with so many altered coins and fakes on Ebay is that it hurts our new and beginning potential error coin collectors. Some of them just give it up after being burned so many times. I tell them to learn first then buy something or get a authenticated coin. Ebay needs a good moderator for the error coin section and throw the few corrupt and the act like they know nothing sellers off permantely.
