CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

A friend sent me some nickels to help fill my album - this was one of them.

    Thanks for any comments!!!

There is a bit of a mis-aligned strike, but not being a nickle person, I am not to sure if this is common or not for this period.

    The RPM however, is great.

        Howdy Darryl!
Way to go on a nice find! I believe that this is RPM-001.
As far as I know this is the only known RPM for this date/mintmark. There could be more but my files only show one. I checked the CONECA files for the year of your coin but it shows that it hasn't been updated in over a year so it could be outdated.

        Way to go again!!

Thanks Speedy - that's great information! Man - I need to get one of these microscopes at home! Love to look at these coins with such clarity.
