CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

Too bad it's so beat up as it would have been a nice collectib;e. I suppose I might keep that one but it's not likely since I do not know enough about lamination errors on Jefferson's to be of any use.

Thank you for the response. It does look a little beat up does'nt it? Usually the pics don't do the coin justice, but I'm surprised at the quality pic I got here. Honestly it does not look bad as far as wear or slickness of carrying it around in a pocket, with the naked eye that is. But it is an ugly creature and I dig it. I see no way that this could be PMD personally.

it looks like your coin has been dissolved with acid. acid will eat away the metal completely if a coin is exposed to the acid for too long.
