  • MONSTER Die Clash 1976-D Roosevelt Dime

Here is a 1976-D Roosevelt dime that has a Obverse Die Clash and TWO MONSTER Reverse Die Clashes.

Photos 1 & 2 show the Obverse Die Clash as follows: the yellow Elipse shows the flame; the green elipse shows the Olive Leaves (note olive leaves between edge of nose and the eye); the red elipse shows stem of Olive branch; the blue elipse shows the oak leaf cluster; the purple elipse shows lower oak leaves. (I forgot to elipse the hairline running thru the "D" of dime.

Photos 3 & 4 show the Reverse Die Clash as follows: the red elipse shows neck, chin & mouth; the green elipse shows face & forehead; the yellow elipse shows the back of the head; the blue elipse shows the bottom of the bust. You should also notice that there are TWO nearly complete Die Clash images about 1/32nd of an inch apart.

This die clash certainly tops the other two die clash dime that are about as pronounced as this one, but not a double die clash on the reverse.

Since there is a 1974-D Roosevelt Dime represented in "Strike It Rich With Pocket Change" pg.181 is estimated at a value of $200+, I am guessing this Roosevelt Dime would have a value of $500+ Certainly seems worth slabing, maybe.
