CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    when I find a coin with globs of dried up junk on it and the coin is not a valuable one i just take a knife blade and remove the junk.

      If the coin is not valuable then leave it be:-) Why risk a sliced finger to remove gunk from junk:-) ?

        Wow!!!! what a post . Sorry I forgot to mention for folks that don't know how to use a knife to not try this at home. here in these ole beautiful hills of Ky. we all know how to use a knife to skin our deer and other daily activites. I just wasn't thinking of city folks when I wrote that post. by the way our rifle season starts this Saturday Nov. 10 , it's time to fill the freezers with deer and elk.

          I have hunted for many years and have had experience with knives. However, I would not attempt to remove glue from a coin with a knife. It is just too risky. Above all, we do have YNs that use this site and to implant the idea that removing glue from a coin with a knife edge is a preferred method is dangerous suggestion.

            Hello:

            I used a dental pick as a lever to get under the blob and the blob flew off and hit me in the middle of my forehead and knocked me off the face of the earth. It has taken me this long to get back (but only with the help of Columbus).

            I never did find the blob because the house had been cleaned several times before I returned.
