1954-D "Bugs Bunny" Franklin questions...
I wanted to know if either of these coins is a "Bugs Bunny" version. I've been doing research about this and thought one of these could be it. Also, is there a die chip in front of Franklins mouth in the second pic?Tags: None

You have the post in the right area. The "bugs bunny" Franklin halves that do feature this die clash type are an error type. so all is well.
I cannot make out if your coin is one of that particular die clash type or not. However, all is not lost. Reference this site and it could provide you with the answer that you seek;

It is under variety types. I know, a contradiction.

Thanks wavysteps! I have been to that site and think it is the 1954-D Die 1 or 2. Here is another picture of a closer look at the mouth. EDIT: I think it is more like die 2 due to the horizontal lines where the mouth is (although I could just be seeing what I want to be there). The only difference I see are the lines coming from the nose. Also, above and to the left of the nostril (on my coin) it looks like another nostril (could just be damage) but I'm just grasping at straws because I just don't know. Thanks again!Attached FilesLast edited by amnight; 12-17-2012, 10:28 AM.

It is a tough cal. Does the reverse show the small right angle clash mark under the left side of the eagle? This will give you some idea if the marks that you are seeing are in fact clash marks.

I was looking at maddieclashes.com and saw the photos showing the clashes. I'm not sure if what I have circled in the picture of the bird is a clash or not, if it is it is very faint. Also, I found what looks to be a very faint line from where the back of Franklins head would be, which I put arrows pointing to. I'm not sure about both of these, but I am trying to learn. Thank you for your help wavysteps!Attached FilesLast edited by amnight; 12-18-2012, 12:09 PM.
