CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

The one thing that you must remember concerning finding a new die variety on a wheat cent is that all wheat cents have been thoroughly searched hundreds of times.

I am not saying it is impossible to find something new ( I have found three new die varieties in wheat cents; 1946(P) DDO-006, 1915-D DDO-001 and the inverted S mintmark on the 1946-S), it is just very hard.

To be convincing that you have indeed found a new die variety, the coin in question must be in a higher grade and it helps immensely if you have two coins with the same die variety, with the same or similar die markers.

In this case, your coin appears to be in a lower grade and it is presumed that you do not have two identical coins. So, it is more than likely not a wayward S mintmark, but more than likely another form of anomaly.
