CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

if you know the truth tell it 1982 penny ?

I am trying to learn the errors & varieties I believe I am right and these to photos show mint errors, not die ? The 1982 coin had either a die break or it was full of grease is this correct ? The 1998 just had a little grease on the die and while these errors go from minor to major they are both struck through errors ? Or is one a ?????? and the other a struck through error ?
I know were all busy but none of us learned this on our own so if you know share a little and let the rest of us catch up. Don't want to o.k. I to feel often times that it is folly to make a fool wiser, so I suggest a good book to them on the subject or a site on line.... Can you who know break loose a minute and do either ? Thanks Ron

The obverse does appear to have been struck through grease. The reverse is also a struck through error. However, the exact nature of the struck through on the reverse is to heavy to be grease and appears to be something more substantial.
