CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

Name for this metal condition ?

I've come across this condition several times and I am curious if there is a term used for this sort of fanning striation of metal on the field of a coin. Thank you as always...

It's called "starburst". Its etiology has not been firmly established but it might be due to an outward migration of microscopic particles. It might also reflect a breakdown of a surface finish.
