It would appear the entire process of inscribing IGWT and the date along the edge will end, and those elements will be moved to the obverse face once 2008 expires.

Was thinking how they will eliminate the possibilities for the many different edge varieties/errors that have evolved.

Yes, undoubtedly there will be some planchets that have been edge lettered that will also be struck with with the new design. I could get interested in that!
Other than the debate that has been on-going, I haven't heard or read anything about the die blanks, or being able to identify, or tell them apart from Sac dollar blanks/planchets.
I know for sure I have an authentic Sac Dollar Blank because I got it before the Pres dollars were ever conceived. One instance I can cite where having something in a dated slab proves such.CONECA Errorsope EditorComment
