1990 reverse grease die
I've got some questions about this one.#1 What are the little spots of extra metal called on the obverse, and do you think the ear looks like i'ts doubled down the out side edge and at the bottom of it?#2 Reverse question is this called split plate doubling or is it some thing else?Image588.jpgImage587.jpgThe highlighted areas ?Tags: None

The imperfections on the obverse are too small in your photos to draw any conclusions. The reverse shows a die crack and split plating doubling. "Split plate doubling" makes no sense as there is no "plate" involved.Mike Diamond. Error coin writer and researcher.

Thank's for the reply mike,I'AM confused are you saying the term split plating doubling makes no sense,or are you saying that me saying that makes no sense? Then if that's not the correct term for what's going on over the reverse letters what is? Please forgive me for being naive. I'am really trying to learn about the anomalies on coins and the correct terms and I greatly appreciate your knowledge you share me.Have a good one and keep up the good work .
