CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 2015 NE 25c multiple chips

Yet another nice 2015 NE 25c found tonight. It has some nice chips on the reverse. My favorite one is on the left side above the roof. It is in the field, not directly on the design. In later die stages of this one, I am sure that the chip would make its way to the roof. There is evidence that a crack started there at the roof and then started "chipping" away at the outer edge instead of the inner edge next to the roof. The larger chips are marked with red arrows. There is a nice crack marked with blue arrows. I am posting these for information purposes on the formation/progression of chips/breaks as well as for everyone's viewing enjoyment! Thanks for looking.
