1966 LMC Strange "Alloy Mix" (If it IS that)?
This seems strange: Lines on the obverse appear to be relatively straight and evenly spaced. They are also running at a slightly different angle than those on the reverse. Thoughts?

I assume the coin does not have a rotated die error. If alignment is proper ("coin alignment"), then these cannot be roller marks since they would have to run in the same direction. Therefore, they would most likely be some kind of superficial staining.Mike Diamond. Error coin writer and researcher.

Very well. Since the lines line up on both faces, these are most likely roller marks. While they are largely restricted to the years you mention, there's no reason they can't occasionally pop up in other years.Mike Diamond. Error coin writer and researcher.

I am noticing some differences between the reverse and the obverse. On the observe, there are dark lines and they go over the bust, but not over the letters and numbers. On the reverse there are light lines and they appear to go under all devices, including the memorial. Some internet sources say that roller marks only go under devices (?)
