CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

  • Dropped Words and Letters. Rare Quarter

I have a 1998 p quarter. Completly missing the word IN-IGWT...The letter G- GOD. The letters T and R in Trust. No scrapes, smears or damage. .It appears like they were never there, accept G in IGWT. It is visible under microscope but its faint.

What you're describing is not a dropped letter (that's something different) rather, your most likely describing a struck thru error where something like grease clogged the parts of the die - thus those areas were not struck properly and do not show the usual design elements.

A coin that was struck thru grease, is a mint error. Its level of collectibility and whether it is worth a premium would largely depend on how dramatic it is, coupled with date and denomination.
