Opinion needed on a delamination issue
I'm new to CONECA and new to these forums, so I apologize up front if this is posted in the wrong place. I recently purchased a 1941-D MS67Full Step PCGS graded Jefferson off of eBay. No issue with the transaction. Reasonable price for the coin. However, when I looked closer at it I discovered a small delamination error in the field behind Jefferson's head. It is small, probably under a an 1/8" x 1/8" but the surface has lifted and is still fully attached to the surface. It was not called out by PCGS, but is noticeable without a loop, and they still gave it a 67! So, my question to the forum is; do you think this adds value or detracts from it? I collect errors, the reason I joined CONECA, but I still have the option of returning the coin for a refund. However, having a PCGS Graded MS67FS Jeff' is intriguing to me. BTW, the coin deserved every bit of the 67 rating sans the delam issue. Thoughts?Tags: None

It's hard to imagine a small lamination error hurting the value of a coin unless it were naked eye obvious. Typically errors do not go well with keys, semi keys or varieties. I am not sure about a high grade old Jefferson though. I do not think it will enhance the value on something like this. If you really don't notice it, and it's just kind of cool to have, I wouldn't worry. Others are free to chime in on this...Jason Cuvelier
