    1986 d nickel MM

I have this 1986 D nickel and the MM seems to be very misplaced. Is it within what would be considered normal tolerance or is it a legitimate error ? Thank you in advance.

Mint marks were hand punched into working dies in 1986 so it not uncommon to see what you’re looking at on your coin. The only ones that are of any extra value are displaced mintmarks.
A Displaced Mintmark is defined as: A mintmark letter, symbol, or digit that was cut, punched, or hubbed in the die far enough out of the normal position so that it is touching some other part of the design on the struck coin.
