Looking through some coins and ran across a 2001P Sacagawea Dollar with a crater in the middle of the baby's blanket on the Obverse. It appears to be a large void that must have been in the planchet before the coin was stuck. It does not look to me to be something that happened after the coin was struck. There is a fold line of the blanket that runs through the void and appears to go past the bottom of the void. I have never seen anything like this or of this size. My guess is it is an error but not sure what kind. Does it have any value to be graded? Could it be a struck though of something? Guidance and input please.
