CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1883 Liberty Nickel -Lamination Error ??

    Hello everyone , Newbie here and newly member of CONECA . I have question about my 1883 Liberty Nickel . Does this look a Lamination error ? Look at area just off Liberty's eyes and forehead. At initial viewing, I thought it was just toning in a strange area . Then I looked at it from an angle and the area looks like a layer is missing ( very very thin ) .

    It could be a really minor lamination issue or a light die crack. I don't think it rises to a level of being worth more. And it is a nice looking coin.
