    1969S- PCGS PR67- Clogged Upper S M/M

Please look at this pics- the upper S is clogged and there appears to be slight doubling in the words GOD

Since this was graded by PCGS- the semi-clogged S is not listed on the slab.
is this too small of an error or did the graders miss this by any chance?

    Opinions welcomed!

As far as varieties go, PCGS will not annotate anything on their label unless it is listed in the Cherry Picker's Guide.

The clogged mint mark "S" was probably not an oversight on their part. While this is a generic type anomaly, if requested and verified, it would have been listed on their label.

Not necessarily. The punch could have bottomed out and dented the die if the punch were tilted in that direction. I am not to sure in this case what happened, however, it is obvious that the upper loop is filled in.

Die chips can be funny when it comes to value. Take a look at some of the VAMs on the Morgan's and Peace dollars and the prices realized for the "lowly" die chip.

Yes, a die chip is considered a die error although some consider it a die variety also. It all depends who you are talking to and what coins you are talking about. When considering an anomaly to be a die error or variety, if it is put on the coin during minting then it is. All marks on the coin after the minting is completed is considered damage.
