I found a blank planchet (sp) in a roll of Monroe dollars. I took it to a dealer to have it graded and was told it would cost too much and everyone knows it's a dollar so don't bother. Would it be to my advantage to have it graded? or Is the previous statement correct?

blank dollar planchet
Hello!

If it had the full inscription, it could have been identified as a Monroe dollar since it was the first Presidential dollar released in 2008. If that had been the case, I would have advised that it be encapsulated.
However, in the present state, it is an unstuck dollar planchet and while it does have some premium, the cost of encapsulation would overshadow that value.
