CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

  • 1971 S 1c MD?

Thought it was MD on date, earlobe and Liberty but is that possible if mm is an RPM? Or do I need to have my eyes checked?
    Thanks again

It’s possible to have MD and a variety like an RPM or Doubled Die but in your case, its all MD

RPM's and doubled dies can be checked out at http://varietyvista.com
        https://coppercoins.com is another.

Important to not that each mintmark is unique as they were punched into the working dies by hand, so it is very possible to pinpoint a RPM by mint mark position. Other markers noted by the researcher may help confirm the call.

Machine doubling can affect just about anything on the coin. If it is lower, shelf like, suspect MD.

You're looking in the right spot though.
