2002 Louisiana State Quarter Error?

Hi All, A while back i bought multiple bags of the Louisiana State mint bags and of the 3 bags i originally purchased, i found in 2 of the bags 32 coins (total) and zero in the 3rd bag and many other bags with nothing since the first finds. All with the same or Similar Error. I circled one of the 8 in the attached photo to show its location. What i have been told it is a strike through but to me its seems more likely a dent to or in the die, What am i looking at? I am trying to fully identify and confirm so that i can get one graded and certified. Please Help...

If it is raised slightly on the coin it would be a die chip or gouge. If it is dented into the coin, it could be a strike through.
This is may be collectible enough for some but it's not dramatic enough for some.

The cost of the encapsulation can cost more than the value of the coin. For example if you sent this one coin out to ANACS you would pay the postage to the TPG company unless you found a rep at a show, then they would send it for free. The fee for a single coin is close to 19 dollars. I don't believe there aren't any other service fees. The return postage would be close to 24 dollars. So you can see prices can add up quickly.

It's up to you what you want to do. For the error side, CONECA services might be able to look the coin over and determine if they would attribute it in hand. I am not sure if those services are live yet, but prices would be cheaper, but the coin may not be encapsulated.

It is Raised. Thank you for the information. I just thought it was an interesting location for a error that looks like a sharks fin in the middle of the field that would be considered the Pacific Ocean. Similarities are cool... Having a certified Error that looks like that one is even cooler...

The TPG companies typically don't give things fancy names unless they have already been established.

Its a lot cheaper to buy a quarters tube and place them in it and label it how you wish. That's my two cents and I am stickin' with it .

Thanks anyway... Its a on again off again hobby to me to share with my son... Like i said it would be great to have a certified find in hand versus just a coin sitting in a tube. To me i expressed what it looks like in the field... sorry if i insulted you.
