1958 D FRANKLIN HALF WITH A STRUCK THROUGH ON THE BOTTOM BELL LINES?
I am looking at a very nice 1958 D Franklin Half. I recently sent the coin in for CAC approval (got it) and when I got the coin back I was looking at the bell lines. I see what appears to be a struck though about the midline of the right lower bell lines. I am guessing struck through grease. Shame the bell lines look full other than that. Hard to tell from your images. I tried to look at the True View images and am still not convinced it is struck through grease. When you get a struck through grease coin you will usually see the chatter marks that were originally on the planchet. The area on your coin looks smooth in the images. I would say it is struck through cellophane or similar thin plastic scrap. Cool coin, I like it.
