In. My opinion, this more than likely is due to the tiny FG initials either are filled with grease, debris or, the mint workers simply got overzealous and polished the designers initials from the die.
On the 4th photo, you can see raised humps where the FG was/is.
Add In that the coin is somewhat worn, and look like the die itself was late stage, almost ready to be retired. Things get worn and clogged...
Typically this is nothing more than a novelty. Some collect these, most don't.Last edited by MintErrors; 08-23-2022, 11:33 PM.
