1983 P KENNEDY HALF STRUCK THROUGH GREASE AND FIBER?
I pulled open a box of coins this evening. I was going through it and came across my Kennedy Half Collection that I had sealed over twenty years ago in a FoodSaver bag. It was in a Dansco Album. I decided to open it up. HOLY COW! All of the Silver (40%) coins were blast white like the day I put them in the album, Most of the clad (MS and Proof) coins were rainbow toned. In the middle of the album this coin stood out as being exceptionally toned. I pulled it out and this is what I found. (FYI 1983 was a year that there were no mint sets issued by the mint.) The toning is breathtaking! I turned it over and put a loop to the coin...There is an anomaly on the rim around 'U S of A'. There are scattered spots of what appears to be struck through grease. Then there is what appears to be a thread or fiber struck through the 'F'. The last pic shows the toning. Thoughts or comments?Last edited by rbroederer; 08-31-2022, 12:11 AM.Tags: None
