This is a fun 1955. 
First of all, there appears to be dye wear around the edge (which I find to give coins character) and then it appears to have a clipped planchet. It does seem like a true clipped planchet because of the Blakeley Effect on the opposite side of the coin. I just have not seen "trails" (not sure what else they are called) on coins before and there appears to be two of them on the front of the coin - one on the bottom of the E in LIBERTY and the other one is connecting the two 5's in the date?
