In this case I would make sure you weigh the coin in grams, down to the hundredths of a gram (x.xx)
i bought a scale off amazon for less than 20 bucks shipped to the house and its running great 6 years later.
In my opinion, being that this coin appears damaged we need to make sure it was not messed with in a garage per se.

What boggles me is the 1953s is the same exact size in circumference but not only that it's the same thickness as a dime alsoComment

Post mint damage, someone altered it to trick a old vending machine to think it was a dime. Probably back when a dime could buy you a bottle of coke. In my opinion onlyComment

IMHO it seems manually modified. The edge is flattened in many places around the circumference, like someone sanded it down. Again, just my opinion. And I'd keep it, but then I keep everything.
