CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

2005 Lincoln cent, odd formation on reverse.

Found this the other day in my long forgot coin stash . I know that people usually says you can’t have raised metal on coins. So…. Would anyone like a shot at this one.

It's a die chip, in the bay / in between the columns like that some collectors like them. I have one that is 3x as large, looks like a bee hive. It's a little more uncommon than the smaller versions of die chips or cracks, but in my opinion, people won't get rich from selling these. Some one might buy you lunch for it....

Gary, thank you for the info. I guess I'm not used seeing them like this because it's slightly above the column and different compared to what I've seen.
