CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

CONECA was formed through a merger of CONE and NECA in early 1983. To learn more about the fascinating HISTORY OF THE ERROR HOBBY and THE HISTORY OF CONECA, we encourage you to visit us our main site Here

I have a 1998 p quarter that ha the same crack as the skh 25c 2998p. 02. My coin also has other cracks besides. So I think is a late stage 02 because of extras.

it does appear to be 02.

BUT, with how much later of a die state yours is, with the TY obv break and the large rev break, i would expect your example to also have a long crack coming off the front of the bust which is shown on the site for 02. it doesn't appear to match any of the others listed so it is either a much later die state or a new one. i imagine that site, even as thorough as it is, to not have nearly all of the possible breaks listed. that would take some serious cooperation and effort.

i may go through some more of mine and see if they are listed and if i can contribute some images. i never really have spent much time on non major radial breaks as there are so many out there but i am glad someone is dedicated enough to do so, like we do on vams and some other early series.

hey thanks. it either takes someone a little off kilter and/or deep numismatic study causes/exacerbates it. kinda like any deep-field study of various subjects. just par for the course. i figured most of this out like my first few months in numismatics. not really for the average person to go deep with. kinda like chess. a fun but DEEEP black hole to go into too far.
