Jefferson Nickel capped die? die adjustment? no date.
Shazam, I was out and grabbed one roll. Look at that. There was a 57 d in the roll too. This coins date is unreadable but i will get a scope on it. Its got fat head and fat house on the back. Any likeminds? Or' , very early stage w\No brok, no , no, I was thinking that perhaps, it may be a die adjustment perchance. It reads out a ghostly 1990 with my loupe.Last edited by 279773; 05-17-2023, 09:42 PM.Tags: None

i'm really starting to think it is all pmd. i KINDA thought it may have been some weird serious foldover lamination type thing but that wouldn't explain the weakness obv/rev. you should wait for a second opinion but i have to classify this all as pmd. i have seen effects of legit errors, striking anomalies, flan defects etc kinda similar to this but never quite have this look. virtually all errors you see from the mint still have a sort of cripsness to them which makes them easier to idenfity from all the weird crap that happens to coins outside the mint so a person ALMOST doesn't have to be an error expert to identify MOST pmd non-error coins which really comes from understanding the minting process, flan production etc to know what pretty much can and cannot happen and the various looks the legit error coins take on DESPITE all the weird legit crap that happens to them during various error making processes, whether natural or assisted.
hope that makes sense.coinfacts.com - conecaonline.info - board.conecaonline.org/forum/numismatic-site-links - briansvarietycoins.com - coppercoins.com - cuds-on-coins.com - doubleddie.com - error-ref.com - franklinlover.yolasite.com - ikegroup.info -lincolncentresource.com - maddieclashes.com - money.org - ngccoin.com/price-guide/world - ngccoin.com/census - ngccoin.com/resources/counterfeit-detection - nnp.wustl.edu - pcgs.com/pop - pcgs.com/coinfacts - pcgs.com/photograde - varietyvista.com - vamworld.com

Sort of, thank you, I was hoping it was not some forgery of an error, Im glad you didn't mention pounded on leather. Do you think it shrunk in the drier? lol. O ahem, I still hold hope. That it is agenuine error specimen, of some type. It wil be on the back burner for now.
