1st I am apologizing for an error - next see a 1999 p mint Jefferson nickel?

Hey guys, I want to first apologize for uploading the wrong 1968 Roosevelt dime. I had met to upload my 1968 D mint Roosevelt dime of which I was interested in the D mint mark being a rpm but I uploaded in error instead my 1968 Philly mint one which doesn't have a mint mark on it of course.
My error. I'll upload my 1968 D mint one another day. It is pretty nice looking. I was working on my computer issues. See my new upload of a 1999 p mint Jefferson nickel. I believe this is an error. Please observe and let me know.

Thanks everyone for your patience as I am new to this Forum. I have a large coin collection with many crazy looking coins. I'm constantly learning so many things about them.

good to hear and thanks for the good words.

nice broadstruck nickel you have there. happens when the dies strike the coin and for some reason the collar is not in place. sometimes these get struck more than once and become multi-struck or if they stick to one of the dies can become a die cap.

Thanks kindly for sharing your information with me on my crazy looking nickel. I will send it in to PCGS or NCGS to get it graded. I forgot to tell everyone that it has beautiful full steps also. I don't know if the picture of the back of the coin showed them as well.

do some auction results for broadstruck modern nickels. the market has gone up n down a couple times in the past 4-8 years with stuff like this and it is not rare, except maybe the date/mm (i dont know them that intimitaly).

sending errors off is a more expensive endeavor and to send a single coin off like this would not surprise me if it is 80-100 and more if you don't already have a membership.

it is best to send a few coins at a time unless something is really valuable and also helps to know how to properly submit coins through the mail and insure if necessary. i've seen MANY horror stories from people NOT taking the time to do things right and end up with nothing.

The broadstruck nickel is a very nice centered example. Not sure if you will recoup your investment in getting it graded though.

The cheapest way out for third party grading service would be ANACS. It depends on whether you send this coin in by itself or with others to qualify for a discount. Anacs insiders also can get a break on some of the costs. In a nutshell, unless you go to a show and fill out a form with the representative, you will pay about 8 bucks for shipping and insurance to ANACS. Then it's about 19 bucks to slab it and grade it. Sometime in the future, errors will be a fee within the ANACS services. The shipping back to you will be close to 24 bucks. That is an overall rough estimate. Contact the third party grading service for actual fees and associated services available. Coins that have varieties and errors can take up to 7+ weeks to process. It does not "pay" to ask for a faster service. If they have to send the coin out to a. Consultant to be examined, it slows the process down by weeks.

I don't know what CONECA does in respect to securing a coin to a variety or error. They may only provide a small letter stating what the error or variety is, and not have any means to ensure a coin that is in the letter is the coin in hand. You can ask a CONECA staff member about the process, or leave Jamez a private message if you have any other questions.
