1971-D 25c Washington Quarter RPM/OPM

Hey everyone,

I got this 1971-D 25c our of a mint set and noticed what looked like apparrent doubling on the reverse (all over, but mostly on Quarter Dollar and IGWT) which seemingly has a known variety close or similar, but what I can't find at all is anything mentioning what is going on with the MM. It looks like either RPM (my guess) or OPM, but I can't be sure. Anyone ever seen this before, and is there a variety I can do diagnostics against? Pics provided

greetings, first on the Mint Mark, there is some damage to the "D" so PMD on this and as well there is no listing for an RPM this year and Mint.

I`m not seeing and Doubled Die on this coin at all, there is some slight MD with a bit of Die Deterioration on the Reverse, and as well there is no listing for a DDO on this year and mint.

Hey, thanks for the quick reply! From the striations on the bottom, I kinda figured it was machine doubling or deuteriation. As far as the MM, when you say there's no listing is that because in your opinion it doesn't have anything like an RPM/OPM or would it be worth submitting it as a potential discovery? I had some pictures from different directions and angles that I attempted to get, but the limit was 8 so here are the remaining. If you don't mind letting me know what you think, that'd be much appreciated!

hey, no problem an glad you found the information helpful, so far as submitting this for a RPM discovery, this would be a waste of time being this older date coin the RPM`s that would have existed would have been found by coin searchers and examiners. I hope this explains it
