CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    1955-D LWC Peels, Laminations and a Rim Cud

    This is a 1955-D LWC that has a combination of peels, laminations and possible attached strike though/peel combination by liberty with a rim cud. It looks like a very busy obverse. Thoughts?

          Thanks for the Photos, a Retained Lamination , though the area of the last 5 of the date looks to be PMD ? the rim looks like it took a hit as well, lamination's are generally believed that the flaking, peeling, and cracking is due to impurities in the alloy. Go here for an interesting read.
