Date error on 1969 D penny and missing FG initials?
Hello everyone and thanks in advance for looking at this. Pretty new to coin collecting and loving these forums so far. The 6 in 1969 looks a little off and on the reverse i can't seem to find the FG initials. Not sure what I'm really seeing. Thanks! You do not have permission to view this gallery.

the FG and the sides to the roof were polished off the die face. This is a common occurrence on 1969 D cents. some people collect them and will add a value to this.... others find it to be a standard polished die and add no value..... the 6 in the date took a hit . it is post mint damage.CONECA Attributer: John Miller

In my opinion, the FG was filled with debris. The floating roof was die maintenance iss, some over zealous mint worker polished that simple line away. I do nor believe this to be valuable. I have 10 plus rolls of these in storage of only one roll that looks utterly convincing and they are BU.
The cherry pickers guide attempted to make a big deal about this in either the 5th edition or sixth edition volume one. I believe it quickly lost interest and probably will never gain ground as a collectable error/variety.Gary Kozera
