CONECA (pronounced: CŌ´NECA) is a national numismatic organization devoted to the education of error and variety coin collectors. CONECA focuses on many error and variety specialties, including doubled dies, Repunched mintmarks, multiple errors, clips, double strikes, off-metals and off-centers—just to name a few. In addition to its website, CONECA publishes an educational journal, The Errorscope, which is printed and mailed to members bimonthly. CONECA offers a lending library, examination, listing and attribution services; it holds annual meetings at major conventions (referred to as Errorama) around the country.

    2022 D 4.0 gram nickel

    I want to introduce myself. My name is Floyd this is my first post in the Forum. Although, I've been interested in coins my whole life. I just started roll hunting about 6 months ago. I opened a box of 2022 d Nickels this week, and as usual I weigh all the rolls. I noticed one roll was 197 grams (all the rest where 198 to 199 grams). This 4.0 gram, 2022 D nickel is what I found. I guess it's about 4/5 the thickness of a normal nickel. So, I think it's a rolled thin planchet error, and I was told by a member of my Facebook group that I should get this coin registered as a new variety. I have no idea how to do this, or If this is what I need to do? Can someone point me in the right direction..please.
