Jefferson Filled Die in eye and “Beehive” Chip

Hello everyone! I’m a member and first time poster. I couldn’t find a number assigned to this, so here goes…
On the obverse there’s what appears to be a filled die in the center of the eye on our left. Normally the center of the eye would look like a full upside down comma rather than a crescent.
On the reverse there’s a die chip/break commonly referred to as a “Beehive” on our far left wall of the memorial.
I have numerous of both of these errors, individually and together. Also in different stages.
i have uploaded photos of each side of the coin with and without markups.

What numbering system were you looking at? Typically, errors are not given numbers since most are unique in their own way. Some things like BIE is an exception, there might be a few others. The BIE numbering system was done decades ago.

The affected area is quite small. Collectors typically shy away from the minor stuff and they are all hyped up about drama. Of the two issues, the beehive might be a little more collectible if it was bigger, like some of the ones on the Lincoln Memorial cents. Even so, those dont fly off the shelves for us and they are far more dramatic.

The foriegn microscope craze has launched many people into thecoin roll hunting craze. The only beef I have with this is people super magnify anything. Then when they see it at 100x or higher it looks impressive. But in reality, most season collectors look at these with a loupe closer to 10x to maybe 15x.

Photos of coins in any type holder makes it difficult for a camera to focus on the coin and not the holder. Typically the camera focuses on the cardboard holder or thin film since it's the first item the camera senses. When I take photos, I will do so to raw coins. I don't use many mylars, so it's easy for me to take a coin out of a archival flip take a photo or two and return the coin it's holder.

Coins in slabs are another story though.
