    1978-S cent

I am new to this site and I need advice on what to do.
I found a 1978-S cent with a filled mint mark, and much doubling on Liberty, and the motto and the date. I thought that proof coins did not have such problems. being new to collecting I have read a lot, but cannot locate anything on this coin. What is recomended
    Thank you
    James

There are many forms of doubling. The mintmark probably has a die chip. Minor errors can be found on proof coins. A photo or two would help.
