I believe in 1985 the mint mark was on the hub for proof coins. I believe the practice for adding mint mark to the hub for business strike coins was early 1990s. Therefore two different placements of a mint mark on 1985 coins would be normal Mint operations.

That is a subtle detail to notice, nothing to be upset about. I have picked up die varieties, RPMs, etc. from online stores and auctions by noticing subtle details like die scratches, mint mark placement, and such. A bit more understanding about what is normal mint operations and you will be well on your way to finding errors and varieties.

LOL- okay!! Is there somewhere you can refer me that maybe has videos or something? I feel like most places that have great info- there are few pics. eBay and trash drowned a lot of stuff. I’m a visual learner - I need to see how and why! Also thank you so much for your knowledge- my sassy comments are in fun.

Start with https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mint-made_errors and then start to google the terms from that page to get a variety of images (use the image tab on google) to get a better understanding of Mint errors. However, if in doubt asking is always an option. Everyone had to learn through trial and error at some point.
