Die Clash or Just Crossed Eyes?
Pulled some car wash quarters today just to pass the time and I came across ol' Washington Crossing the Delaware. While looking for the run-of-the-mill error that actually didn't exist on this quarter, I pull away to put the quarter back in the proverbial bucket, and the light from my scope hit this quarter just right. What looks to be a die clash caught my eye. To me, it appears as if the obverse GW's Adam's Apple is laying in shadow to the reverse GW. I've attached a picture of it for reference. I'd love everyone's opinion! I'm not new new to collecting. Just plain ol' new.You do not have permission to view this gallery.

So this is the only place a potential clash might show up?
The reason I ask is for clarity. Sometimes additional clashes may not that easy to spot. They like to hide.
The other thing I immediately notice is that this area follows the contour of this nose as well.
But just to be sure, if you can upload a full obverse and reverse of the coin, I can try to mess around with the images and try creating a overlay to see what the cause could be.Last edited by MintErrors; 04-04-2022, 07:19 AM.Gary Kozera

This is clashed with the jaw/neck angle. Could be more areas clashed but the center is most common

Thanks for the images, but I cannot use them. They aren't full coin images I would need those to make any overlay.
You might be able to find one of them online some where.
The only area I THINK I see something is above the tallest person at the far end of the boat.
Photos are a bit dark to see any good surface reflection needed to see raised clashes on coins.
When I take photos, I make sure they are viewed at the default settings (50%) on brightness, contrast etc so people have a better chance to see items if they customize their screens.
