Rolled up steps to Lincoln Memorial

I put this post in the wrong forum may apologies if I'm breaking any rules for reposting. I'm a new guy...I have a 1969 D penny and on the reverse side the bottom steps of the Lincoln Memorial look as though they were rolled up like carpet. Even if it's not an error it still looks cool to me. Any advice is welcome. Thanks boys and girls!

I am going to say PMD (post mint damage) looks like the steps took a hit outside of the mint. JMO

Not an error IMHO. Rather common on coins from that time (cents and nickels come to mind). The die pressure was not enough to fully press Lincoln and the memorial. I believe they reduced the die pressure slightly to get more coins from each die before the dies deteriorated.
