1944 mint error?
I found a 1944 penny with a big number 3 over the 2nd "4" in the date anyone else ever heard or seen this before I am looking for more info about it. Thanks. You do not have permission to view this gallery.

In my opinion, More than likely, post mint damage. The US Mint would never release this. The coin was struck normally, and released into circulation. Then some one thought they would be funny and tried to hammer a "3" where the 4 is to make it a 1943 copper cent, worth a lot of money. It's nothing more than a damaged coin done in some one's garage.
