1990 Penny - lower weight/destroyed - PMD or Gas bubble?

Came across this beast of a penny. Looks like a monster used it for chewing gum. Curious about the gas bubble and if it's PMD or something that contributed to the PMD. It weighs 2.3 gms

In my opinion , definitely a coin suffering from post mint damage, done after it left the mint. Your guess is as good as ours, as to what actually happened to it. Only the coin, and they person who did it. Right now neither oneiswillingto say what happened.

It could have been used as a screwdrives, a wedge, shim, spacer, or hundreds of other scenarios.
It is tough to know if the area that looks like a gas bubbleisrelatedto the other damage or was it done earlier/later.

In any event, it's a damaged coin, barely worth face value.
